Boston Career Link offers a number of resources and services specifically designed to help job seekers connect with employers and find employment.
Become A Member
Become a member of Boston Career Link and take advantage of the many services available to you without charge, including:
- Career Resource Room
- Referrals to training
- Recruitment events
- Career fairs
- Labor market information
To become a member, all you will need to do is fill out a short membership form and attend a New Member Orientation session. The sessions are conducted on Mondays at 2:30 p.m., Tuesdays at 5:30 p.m. and Fridays at 9:30 a.m. Orientation takes about an hour and a half.
Once you become a member, you will receive a membership card and have full access to the resources and services of Boston Career Link.
Workshops
Workshops at Boston Career Link provide the opportunity to access job information in a group setting and become better prepared to pursue new employment opportunities. Some of the workshops offered on a weekly basis include:
- Basic Resume Writing
- Write a Cover Letter
- How to do an Online Job Search and Job Application
- The Job Interview
- Networking
Skills Training
Some job seekers who need skills training may be eligible for individual training funds through the Workforce Investment Act or WIA. WIA is a federally funded skills training program eligible to:
- Low-income Boston residents
- Dislocated workers of Boston companies or workers laid off from Boston companies
- Laid off Boston residents
Skills training orientation is offered every Wednesday at Boston Career Link. No registration is required.
Employers
Employers come to Boston Career Link to conduct Onsite Recruitments with qualified candidates. To find out which employers are coming and information about the event, look for notices in the career center’s reception area or refer to our Events Calendar.
Career Fairs connect job seekers with employers. The fairs are held on site at 1010 Harrison Avenue in Boston. For information about Career Fairs, look for notices in the career center's reception area or refer to our Events Calendar.
